Project History
Sindh Education Foundation Assisted School Teachers Training Project (April 2017 – March 2018)
The Sindh Education Foundation – Government of Sindh is in the process of strengthening the SEF supported schools under its PPRS & SAS (SEF Assisted Schools) programs in Sindh. Also it is simultaneously expanding its portfolio for reaching out to the Out of School Children in the province. These schools are in all the districts of Sindh.To enhance the capacity building of Teachers of SEF assisted School, Sukkur IBA has been awarded SEF Teachers Training Project to train more than 3800 teachers throughout Sindh on the topic of Science, English, Mathematics and Social Studies of Grade 3-10. The trainings under this project is being conducted at Sukkur, Khairpur, Naushero Feroz, Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Dadu, Badin, Thatta, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Umerkot and Karachi.
It is a 15 day comprehensive training program, each group of 40-45 participants is being trained for 15 Days. Following are the topics covered under this training program. .
- Learning: How do Children/Adolescents Learn?
- Understand the Curriculum Mathematics, Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Studies and English Language.
- Subject Specific Content and Pedagogical Content
- Formative, Summative and Authentic Assessments
- Collaborative Planning, Teaching, Assessing and Reflecting and ICT for planning.

5 Series of 2-Day Assurance of Learning Seminar (February 2015 – April 2015)
Sukkur IBA in collaboration with Sindh Elementary Teachers Training Project-CIDA, Education & Literacy Department Government of Sindh conducted a 5 series of 2-Day Assurance of Learning Seminar for DEOs, DOEs, HMs, Principals, Lecturers and Assistant Professor of TTIs. Total 950 participants from all districts of Sindh have attended this seminar. Participants of this training were from Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, T M Khan, Tando Allahyar, Kashmore, Khairpur, Badin, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Nausherferoz, Kambar Shahdadkot, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Sujawal, Tharparkar, Matiari and Thatta. Dr. Ghulam Ali Arain (Director EDC) was the program director of this training.Following Topics were covered in this Assurance of Learning Seminar. .

Capacity Building of Government Managers under Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) Project (June 2014 – June 2015).
Sukkur IBA in collaboration with Sindh Elementary Teachers Training Project-CIDA, Education & Literacy Department Government of Sindh conducted a 4 series of 12-Day Capacity Building Training of DEOs, ADOEs, HMs, Principals, Lecturers and Assistant Professor of Teachers Training Institute. Total 480 participants from all districts of Sindh have attended this training.Sukkur IBA was responsible for designing of modules keeping in view the practices of Education managers of Sindh with government / SPPRA. .

USAID Funded ASP-LUMS Trainings (2013 – 2015).
Sukkur IBA in-collaboration the USAID funded Assessment and Strengthening Program LUMS conducted different training programs for operational executives at Sukkur IBA from March, 2013 to June 2015. These training programs were part of an MOU signed by ASP-LUMS with three academic institutes to increase the capacity of the partnering institutes and expand the reach of ASP-LUMS all over Pakistan. Sukkur IBA was the responsible for designing the training module and provide faculty for this training program.These were a 5-Day Training program on following topics. .

Module of Procurement Management was designed keeping in view the PPRA/SPPRA strategy. These training workshops were conducted for CSOs and Government of Pakistan (GoP) Organizations at the operational executives level. Participants in this training were from Khyber Pakhtoon Khuwa, FATA, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Sindh. Total 313 government officials were trained in this training program. .
Sindh Education Sector Managers (SESM) Leadership Training Program (April 2011 to December 2012).
Sukkur IBA has worked with Reforms Support Unit (RSU) Education and Literacy Department Government of Sindh, for Training the Managers of Education department under a collaboration/contract, through which these managers are being trained at Provincial Institute of Teachers Education (PITE) Nawabshah at District Shaheed Benazirabad Sindh from April 2011 to December 2012. Initially total 150 participants were got registered in this training but in the end 117 participants have got the certification. The participants in this training were DEOs, ADEOs, Head Masters and DOs from different part of Sindh province. Mr. Pervaiz Ahmed Memon (Assistant Professor) was the coordinator of this training from Sukkur IBA.This training was comprised of following modules. .

Teach for Khairpur (March 2018 – December 2018)
Sukkur IBA University in collaboration with District Government Khairpur executed a Programme titled” Teach for Khairpur Initiative” Sponsored by Syed Qaim Ali Shah (PS: 29 Community Development Programme).The main objective of this Programme is to Improve Learning Outcomes of Students Enrolled in Government High School and Higher Secondary Schools of Khairpur Taluka.
Following are the main task of this Programme.
- Supporting Science Laboratories (Five Schools)
- Services of Mobile Science Laboratory (Where Labs are Not Available)
- Capacity Building of 107 Teachers (SS/HST)

Sindh Education Foundation AALTP Teachers Training Project (January 2018 – December 2018)
Recognizing the challenges in imparting Non-Formal Education (NFE) to Out of School (OOS) Adolescents and Adults who have missed the opportunity to avail education in their early phase of life, Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) plans to employ methods aimed at pedagogical enhancement under the AALTP.To enhance the capacity building of Teachers of SEF AALTP Program, Sukkur IBA has been awarded SEF AALTP Teachers Training Project to train more than 600 teachers throughout Sindh. These teachers will be trained in Science, English, and Mathematics subjects with an additional focus on Urdu and Sindhi from Katchi to Grade 5. The training under this project is being conducted in Sukkur, Khairpur, Naushero Feroz, Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Dadu, Badin, Thatta, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Umerkot and Karachi.

Demand Based Training for SMEs under National Business Development Program (NBDP) by SMEDA (December 2021 – May 2023) Phase-II and Phase - III
Sukkur IBA Executive Development Center had been awarded Phase-III of demand-based training for SMEs under National Business Development Program (NBDP) by SMEDA. The purpose of this program is to enhance the capacity building of SMEs throughout Pakistan.Under this project Sukkur IBA EDC organized 30 one day traning program at different locations of Pakistan from Karachi to Gilgit Baltistan. UNICEF Sindh Technical Assistance Development Through Enhanced Education Program (STA-DEEP) (April 2022 – November 2024)
The United Nations International Children Emergency Funds (UNICEF), Pakistan, for the project entitled: Development and Delivery of the European Union’s Sindh Technical Assistance, Development through Enhanced Education Programme (STA- DEEP). Two institutions i.e. Sukkur IBA University (SIBAU), Sukkur, Pakistan and the Aga Khan University - Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED), Karachi, Pakistan, have agreed to collaborate in designing and executing the STA-DEEP project.The purpose of this project is to support Career Professional Development – CPD model implementation in Sindh. To implement this, Sukkur IBA University and AKU-IED incoordination with PITE, STEDA and SELD will design and implement following activities.

IT Industry Readiness Bootcamp Program (April 2023 – September 2024)
The objective of the IT industry readiness bootcamp program to equip 1500 youth graduates/equivalent with the latest IT industry skills required to fill the shortage of skilled resources in Pakistan and around the world. The training will cover seven of the most in-demand technologies:The IT industry readiness bootcamp program will be executed by Sukkur IBA University in collaboration with and Information Science and Technology Department, Government of Sindh in different districts of Sindh i.e., Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Larkana, Sukkur and Khairpur. Each course will consist of 300 hours of training (90% on technical skills with embedded free-lancing skills and 10% on soft skills training i.e., communication, team building, Ethics, human rights and Entrepreneurship)..

Peoples Information Technology Program (September 2024 – September 2025)
To increase the employability and to fill the supply gap for industry-ready skilled resource, a series of Human Capital Development Program through Information Science and Technology department, Government of Sindh, has been initiated. One of the said programs is going to equip the non-ICT graduates/under-graduates/equivalent (having Basic Computer and/or Programming Knowledge) with emerging technologies and soft skills by the ICT Faculty and Industry Professionals that will help them in enhancing the number and quality of HR workforce available to Pakistan IT.Following are the main task of this Programme.
- Train 10000 youth in Sindh Province and 3500 youth in Sukkur region.
- Provide accessible and free of cost IT education to empower individuals with the necessary skills to participate in the digital economy.
- Promote digital literacy among citizens to bridge the digital divide and ensure inclusivity in the digital age.
- Offer courses that are aligned with industry needs to prepare students for current and future job requirements in the IT sector.
- Foster IT skills development to create employment opportunities locally and contribute to economic growth through the IT sector.
- Empower, especially women and youth with IT skills, thereby, promote gender equality and youth development.
